RE: generator exhaust

Genturi is great. On my rig it dampens the sound well. It rund up the wall of my bedroom and I can really tell a difference when it's mounted. I had problems with my first Class B+ where the slides were not sealed very well when opened. Cold air could be felt when opened.
I won't be without one now that I've used it.

RE: Warrior's assets siezed

I'm probably a little strange but I try to be optimistic and am a bit of an oportunist too.
The day I heard about National RV going Chapter 11 I started shopping. I owned a great little B+ Lexington that was great but small and wanted to upsize to a class A.
I searched around and found a brand new Sea Breeze for just a little over cost. Full warranty on everything. I realize that if I ever need a front or rear cap or some body parts that can't be repaired with fiberglass I may be in some difficulty. But.....
It's a little different buying one just shortly before they go belly up but it isn't the end of the world either.
Everything I have on the National is covered by the mfg and I've even just last week gotten the Domitec ref recall work done at no charge. Atwood, Toshiba, Ford, Samsung, it's all covered.
It helps to be mechanically inclined and do a lot of preventative stuff yourself too. Or be rich......
I understand the feeling of being taken if you suspect the seller knew and didn't tell the buyer. That is probably not illegal but it is imoral in my humble opinion.
WW owners need to band together like National owners have and work to help each other out.
It's still a good product and anyway, after the warranty is out you'd be on your own anyway.
Like I said, not trying to make light of a bad situation but again it's not the end of the world.
good luck........

RE: Ford "53" mileage survey.

'07 Chassis, 35' National Sea Breeze 19,500 (weighed at DOT scale, loaded) 4100 miles total. We get 7.9 not towing according to Scan Gauge. Mostly mountain or hill country of East Tennessee so far and one trip to Myrtle Beach where I got 8.4 not towing.
Towing for the first time to Reel Foot Lake in September hope to still get in the 7 range. I've got the biger V10 with 5 Speed with Tow/Haul mode. Anxious to see how that works out. I keep hearing that with more mileage it will improve, and I hope that is true.

RE: Roof cleaning and maint

First hand experience: nothing's as slick as any RV roof with soap on it. I tried to wash from front to back, rinsing as I went and it worked fine till I kicked the bucket over. Wow, it is even worse on you knees with shorts on. No safe way to do that. Next time I'll do mine from a ladder for sure. I used dawn and kept the sides rinsed good to keep it from streaking as it dripped down. Did all this after I'd resealed every opening on top except the ac units.
Everything turned out fine but it is dangerious. I know you were kidding about putting a kid up there......I hope!.
Good luck

RE: Do you lock your battery, propane tanks, and spare tire?

Battery inside behind locked door, no spare (call Good Sam) and Propane is hard mounted. I do have a cable I've rigged up and secure my 50A electrical cable. They could probably get it but it would take some time and hopefully wake me, plus it's under a security light.
Anyway, if they want it bad enough not much you can do. Don't think I could shoot someone over property but I'd sure cause him to soil his britches. Think I'd lay him on the ground and act pretty crazy till the cops arrived........I really think I could make him beg a little.

Been there, done that, bought a t-shirt.......It's one of those little things you learn. I once heard someone say, "experience is something you gain right after you need it".

RE: Plastic plug in Atwood water heater

I'd not use a metal plug. Dissimilar metals react in a very short time and it will seize to the point of cracking the shell when and if it ever breaks loose. I'd go with the plastic and some non hardening dope (Lowes in the plumbing section)
Good luck.

RE: Witnessed Substantial decrease in travel?

JUst returned from Pirate Land in Myrtle Beach. Full every day. We saw lots empty then full right back up. The traffic did seem lighter on the road from Tennessee and not as many RVs it seemed.
We'll still do our weekend thing but mostly in Tennessee State Parks.
Still planning one trip to Key West later this year and the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, other than those we'll stay close to home.
We did eat more in this trip to save a little so the people who will hurt lots are the tourist trap/T-shirt/etc dealers.
We did eat out once at Myrtle Beach. Went to Dick's Last Resort. What a hoot and it was packed. We waited 45 minutes for a table and there was still a line outside when we left.
Good luck.

RE: Need help please!!! Pensacola, FL

Any chance you're active duty, retired military or currently member of reserves or National Guard? If so look at
www.militarycampgrounds.us
Check out Oak Grove and several others in that area.
Good luck.

Another Slide Out Question

After a few miles down the road my slide (sofa/dinette) creeps out about 1 inch at the bottom. It doesn't go any further but I have to bump it back in every time I stop. Probably isn't hurting anything but still don't seem like it should do that.
Anyone else have that problem and does anyone know if there is an adjustment or a stop which might be out of whack?
Thanks in advance.

RE: Trac Phone

We use Trac Phone all the time while traveling. Not sure about Nevada but it works well throughout Texas Panhandle, Oklahoma and New Mexico. No problems at all. Broke down once between Amarillo and Santa Rosa and worked fine to call my son in Albuquerque.
Good luck.

RE: Smoky Mountains

Watch for some rock outcropings if coming down toward Gatlinburg from the NC side, they will be on your side and some stick out a ways.
If you watch for them you should have no problem and follow the directions in previous post.
Good luck and for sure park the Class C and do Gatlinburg in the toad, not in the MH. If not interested in G'burg, take the bypass.
